Mac/PC Systems Engineer


    Salary: Excellent salary + benefits, depending on experience.
    Expected start date: April 2006


    We require an experienced dynamic, enthusiastic and intelligent Macintosh/PC engineer to join our established and growing team, to provide system support, design and implementation services to established and prospective clients in the UK. Reporting to the Tecnical Manager, you will be responsible for installing, supporting and developing client IT systems, including hardware, software and if necessary the network infrastructure.

    The ideal candidate will have at least two years Macintosh support experience and be proficient in the use of Apple based systems in network environments from hardware through to media and publishing software and have excellent knowledge and experience of Mac OS 9, OS X / OS X Server. Experience with Apple hardware including Apple Xserve, Xserve RAID or XSAN would be advantageous. General networking skills and knowledge (e.g. Ethernet, LANs, TCP/IP, etc) essential. Experience of Windows XP and 2000 are also required. Windows Server experience would be a distinct advantage.

    This is a hands-on role requiring proven support experience. You will need the ability to analyse and resolve client network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion. You will be a team player with good customer facing and communication skills and be highly self motivated, reliable and adaptable with the ability to prioritise tasks and workloads.

PC/Microsoft Systems Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for installing, supporting and developing client IT systems, including hardware, software and the network infrastructure.

    The ideal candidate will have over two years hands-on PC and Microsoft Windows support experience and be proficient in the use of Windows systems in networked environments. Excellent knowledge and experience of Windows XP and 2000, MS Office and PC hardware is required. General networking skills and knowledge (e.g. Ethernet, LANs, TCP/IP, etc) is essential. Windows Server experience (SBS, 2000, 2003, Exchange) and Internet LAN/WAN experience would be distinct advantages.

    Proven system interoperability experience would be a valuable asset.
